An oak G Plan Buffet, part of the first G Plan range, the Brandon, designed in 1953 by V B Wilkins. This rare item (model B834) was made by adding a removable top piece to the existing Brandon sideboard (model B833), creating shelf room for crockery whilst leaving most of the top surface clear for serving. Inside the left door is an original teak tray, a rare survivor.
The buffet has 2 cupboards, both with internal shelf, and a drawer. The 4 shelves inside the upper piece have plate grooves. The top piece attaches to the base with metal plates and can be removed if desired. The buffet has been restored; there is one area of veneer repair on the left side. Additionally there are minor marks to the wood and other small repairs to the veneer, which are minimally visible. At some point an 8cm diameter hole has been drilled in the rear of the left cupboard. Please examine the photographs and feel free to ask us any questions, or request more pictures.
