An iconic piece of furniture in fantastic condition that will be the focal point in any interior. This is a librenza, so named because it combines 'library' and 'credenza'. From the tola and black range by G Plan, introduced in 1956, it's often used as a room divider because it's just as beautiful on the back as the front, and the central support can be kept in the middle of the base cabinet, or moved to one side to sit against a wall. It was designed as a space-saving combination of sideboard and bookcase, and has a drop-down cocktail cabinet with glass shelf in the mid unit, with a further cabinet with shelf at base level with sliding doors. The height adjustable, floating shelves are perfect for books or your favourite ornaments. The legs have brass levelling screws to prevent wobble on hard floors. The gold G Plan stamp is inside the base cabinet. The combination of warm walnut-coloured wood, black lacquer and brass works perfectly; this unit would look fabulous in any mid-century inspired interior.
The librenza has been gently restored; the wood has been stripped to reveal its lovely colour and grain, and refinished with oil and protective wax. It's in very good condition with very minor signs of use. Please examine the photographs and feel free to ask us any questions, or request more pictures.
