A beautiful and unusual example of this 60s style icon, this is a green Shattaline table lamp with orange and yellow pieces. The lamp comes with its original orange / red spun fibreglass shade which is in exceptionally good condition.
'Shattaline' was an English company which patented a process to create 'shattered' resin, giving it a beautiful 3 dimensional pattern which glitters in the light, particularly when the lamp is lit. Lamps were one of the most popular items made from the resin, along with paperweights and other decorative items. Shattaline lamps were often paired with these shades, made from spun fibreglass, and they complement each other perfectly.
The lamp base has been rewired and has a white lamp holder, flex and plug. The base of the lamp is covered in original blue 'velvet' paper to protect your tabletop. It takes a standard bayonet cap bulb (B22).
The lamp base and shade are in almost perfect condition without cracks or chips. The lamp is in good working order, however for all vintage lighting we suggest that buyers consult a professional to reassure themselves of safety before use. Please examine the photographs and feel free to ask us any questions, or request more pictures.
